> Venezuela is a huge nation state with oil reserves of more than 300 billion barrels proven, an economy of $79 billion, a standing army of 320,000 personnel and a total population of 28.4 million people.
>> The nation lied down naked in front of a very few American soldiers who entered, attacked and took away their Head of the State.
Venezuela: A Nation with No Honor shows it has no real honor. At least, the recent events have shown the country’s inability to protect its sovereign head to a foreign power. Even in any tribal area, it is impossible to capture, arrest or kill their head without serious consequences. Once news breaks, the entire tribe will take over the attacking community or nation until they take the revenge of their leader.
However, in the case of Venezuela, their Head of State was arrested from his home. The Venezuelan Armed Forces acted like fluffy cats who can show the claws. Yet, in reality they cannot only react through mere moaning. These were 320,000 military personnel and 600,000 soldiers in reserve, making it one million soldiers on ground.
Still, the US forces had no fear. They entered, attacked the nation, took away their leader and installed a dubious setup of their own choice. They call it a transition government. The entire Venezuelan administration stands hand-tied to the American government. Yet, no Venezuelan seems to have the courage to oppose it. What happens next is more appalling. President Trump announced the complete State machinery to act in accordance with the American demands. Interestingly, Venezuelans also complied to it. It brings us to the conclusion: Venezuela’s nation has no honor.
Venezuela’s Military: Pimp of the Nation
Venezuela: A Nation with No Honor. In any country, the military and political forces will unite under a single flag to protect nation’s honor from being degraded to such low levels. It may turn into a civil war or removal of people from the highest offices. However, we see increments to those sitting in power in Venezuela; be it the military chief or the vice president.
It was not possible to capture Maduro in a manner he was taken down. For instance, it must have involved several ranks within the military and security establishment of Venezuela. Clearly, the first layer of security was targeted.
Moreover, there were several moles within Maduro’s circle who got him nabbed. Yet, the response from Venezuela was literally minimal. They did not fire on the incoming attackers. They chose not to attack them once the foreign army had entered the land. They also remained silent once the American military left away along with their President. An army of one million strong force acted like pimps in front of the hundred or so American personnel.
Venezuelan Public: Honor Less Masses
Venezuela: A Nation with No Honor. While several thousand Venezuelans were against Maduro’s rule. However, any nation would feel betrayed when a foreign army tries to remove their leader from power. In fact, attacking a low-level officer of any government can attract severe response. No nation on earth allows a foreign government to attack or arrest their government official even. The Office of President represents the entire nation state.
However, the Venezuelans have shown little respect to their honor. They were silent and unclear on what has happened. They did not choose to flock the streets and chant slogans for their President or against the American soldiers for taking away their President in such a manner. They kept silent and waiting for the announcement from the American President. Once it was confirmed that Americans have taken Maduro, there was no official response for another several hours. The Venezuelan government took hours to clear the mist and installed the Vice President as their President.
One may ask: if they were unable to protect a strongman like Maduro; Will they ever be able to stand behind President Delcy Rodríguez. Will she be able to take decisions for the betterment of Venezuela? Or will she act as a puppet for her master’s?
We have already seen the American government boasting its oil capacity with promises from Venezuela to accept all oil deals with the United States. One can assume that any sovereignty of Venezuela is far from the sight. This also reflects a reality: an honor-less nation who is unable to protect its own national leader rarely has any respect at the global level. Thus, every nation needs to learn from how not to be a Venezuelan.
